Can You Hear Me Now?

This has been a very interesting week. I took time off this week to help Flower Child and the twins, Fuzzy & Wuzzy. I really only spent one day with them as I was waiting for the phone guy to come and install my new landline the first day. He finally came around noon, but this was after Flower Child was in the middle of a minor breakdown during her first day alone with the twins. She did get through it but I can only imagine how hard it is having to take care of two newborns by yourself. After all of that, my phone was still not working. I called and they told me to wait 24 hours because my other service was not disconnected. I called again the next day and spoke to a really nice person who told me the issue would be resolved the next day.

It. was. not.

I called again and spoke to someone who kept giving me a standard answer as to repairing my service. Let's get this straight:

I. had. no. service. Ever. I called back and threatened to cancel the whole kit and caboodle. Nicely, I might add. That got their attention. A really nice technician arrived yesterday morning and took one look at my phone hookups and new exactly what was wrong. He also went into my smartbox and fixed everything. He also told me I could throw former services' phone modem into the street. Yea, I don't think so. He definitely did not like my former phone/internet service.

Anyway I spent a few hours the next day with Flower Child and the twins. Fuzzy liked me but Wuzzy wanted nothing to do with me. Oh well, I just might have to resort to bribery at some point ie: candy, cookies, toys. Flower Child decided to fly solo the next day and did ok. I had to return to work on Friday because I have no time off left. Please pray I do not get the Swine Flu inbetween now and January.

The Ted Kennedy Funeral was on TV at the time the new phone guy came and he had a few choice words for that too. He also told Corvette that the war in Afghanistan has something to do with Obama's opium crops. (insert cricket sounds here)

On the other hand he loved my dogs and they loved him. Buddy (my chihuahua) did not bite his ankles and Lucie, (my big red dog) did not jump on him and knock him down. Quite frankly, I did not know what to make of him. But, hey, he fixed my phone so I guess it is all good.
I am currently watching the Ted Kennedy funeral. I have a take on this and all the people that have passed this summer, but I will wait until tomorrow to post about that. I am worn out with the phone stress.

Sunday Brunch

We enjoyed a weekend with Cinderella, Tango & Butterfly. They came down to to visit and see Fuzzy & Wuzzy our new twins. The twins are doing well, but always seem to be sleeping when we visit.

Cinderella gifted Hippie Guy & Flower Child with a digital camera so they can provide us with lots of pictures of Fuzzy & Wuzzy. I have a few more to post and will do that at the end of this post.

I like my new blackberry phone but it has quite a learning curve. It is like a mini computer. Any help would be appreciated.

Today's recipe is my most favorite potato salad. It doesn't really have a name so I will just call it Juliannah's Potato Salad.

Eight to Ten Red Potatoes

2 Hard Boiled Eggs

1 cup Mayonnaise

1/4 cup Rice Vinegar

1 Tbsp Sugar

1/4 cup Red Bell Pepper

1/2 tsp Onion Powder

1/2 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp Pepper

1/2 tsp Paprika

Boil the potatoes with the skins on until done. Boil the eggs until done. Cut up the potatoes and eggs. Cut the bell pepper into small pieces. Mix potatoes, eggs & peppers. Mix mayonnaise, vinegar, spices & sugar into potatoes, eggs & peppers. That is it. You can also substitute green bell pepper, pickle relish or anything else you may desire.

Today is also the  2nd month angelversary for Lolly Pop Kid. We all miss him so much. I had a knock at the door today and it was Mormon missionaries. They gave me a card with a illustration of Jesus and on the back of the card it said, "Faith in Christ can help you resolve personal and family challenges.

God Just keeps knocking on our door.

Lolly Pop Kid we love you and miss you. We want you back.

And that is all I have to say about that.

Baby Pics!

Here are some great pics of our twin grandsons. I found bloggie names: Fuzzy & Wuzzy. This is because Flower Child pointed out that Fuzz had fuzzie hair all over his back as did Wuzz, so Fuzzy (A) & Wuzzy (B)! Family members please email me and I will tell you who is who.

"We Made Humans."

Hippie Guy and Flower Child became the proud parents of twin baby boys yesterday. The whole family is doing fine and we are thankful to be able to welcome two healthly and beautiful babies into our family.

It is funny because Flower Child was scheduled to have a C section yesterday at 1:00pm, but nature decided to step in as she went into labor the night before so they arrived just a bit earlier in the day. This was the day God intended them to come and they most certainly did.

I must admit that my son Hippie Guy looked a little shell-shocked right after the birth. I do believe he was given that wonderful little life changing gift every new parent receives upon the birth of their child.  Responsibility. Not that he isn't already responsible, because he is, but now there is a bit of a twist on that.

Flower Child looked very serene and beautiful except for the 3 hour period from the twins' birth to when the nurse finally brought them to her. I think if she could of got out of bed at that point it is quite possible there would have been a few wounded nurses. Seriously.

If you are wondering about the title it was a remark that Flower Child made while we were discussing the birth experience. Yes, Flower Child and Hippie Guy, you made humans. And two fine ones at that.

I will post a couple of pictures now, but I left my camera at the hospital and I will be posting more pictures later when I get it back. Plus I need to think of bloggie names for the twins. So far my mind seems to be blank concerning this. Any suggestions? But please keep it nice and clean.

So for the time being they will still be A and B. This is A.

Just a Fun Ole Friday

Well, today I don't have anything very profound to speak about, just some announcements and comments concerning my life.

First of all: Ta Da

I just ordered a new computer! Yes, I decided to take the plunge because:

#1 My computer is about 5 years old which makes it ancient in computer land.

#2 I am pretty sure my current computer has a few creepy crawlers because it does not always cooperate.

#3 New computer comes equipped with a wireless router so I can take that sucker in my bathroom/walk-in closet/"3rd" bedroom (those of you that have seen it know what I mean) if I so desire.

It should arrive either Monday or Tues. Here is a picture of my new favorite piece of electronics.

laptop-inspiron-15-right-red-alternate-314

Ohh yes baby, it's red.

In other news, I have an update on the arrival date of Hippie Guy and Flower Child's twins. Looks like the second week of August if they don't decide to make an appearance earlier. All is well with mother and children and Hippie Guy no longer has a deer in the headlight look. So we are looking forward to the birth and the baby shower next weekend with family and friends.

Other great news is Sgt. Red should be arriving from the Sandbox in the next couple of weeks. This has been a long year deployment and his family especially Crafty will be glad to have him home. His detachment was successful in the training of Iraqi Army soldiers. Apparently the IA no longer have trouble handling their own weapons as they have quit shooting themselves in the foot so to speak. Congratulation Sgt Red and the rest of your team!

LCpl Honda had been out floating with the Navy for about a week now in preparation for his upcoming deployment. Haven't heard anything but I expected that.

So I saved the best news for last. Cinderella called the other night to tell me that she will be a college graduate on Oct 23, 2009!!! Way to go Cinderella. We are all so proud of you!!!! Look forward to seeing you in your cap and gown! (and beware, because I am sure you remember what you did to me at my graduation)  ;) She also told me that she bought Miley Cyrus tickets for Butterfly and will surprise her with those in Sept. So everyone SSHHHH!!! It's a secret!

I think that is about it except Happy Father's Day to all. Be seeing you on Sunday Dad!

I am going to leave with a joke that was sent to me by my SIL, Ocean Girl (yea sweetie, you got a bloggie name now!) It is about Forrest Gump and considering the name of this blog I just had to post it here. Enjoy All!

FORREST GUMP GOES TO HEAVEN.The day finally arrived.
Forrest Gump dies and goes to Heaven.

He is at the Pearly Gates, met by St. Peter himself.
However, the gates are closed,
and Forrest approaches the gatekeeper.

St. Peter said, 'Well, Forrest,
it is certainly good to see you.
We have heard a lot about you.
I must tell you, though,
that the place is filling up fast,
and we have been administering
an entrance examination for everyone.
The test is short, but you have to
pass it before you can get into Heaven.'

Forrest responds, 'It sure is
good to be here, St. Peter, sir.
But nobody ever told me about any entrance exam.
I sure hope that the test ain't too hard.
Life was a big enough test as it was.'

St. Peter continued, 'Yes, I
know, Forrest,
but the test is only three questions.
First:
What two days of the week begin with the letter T?
Second:
How many seconds are there in a year?
Third:
What is God's first name?'

Forrest leaves to think the questions over.
He returns the next day and sees St. Peter,
who waves him up, and says,
'Now that you have had a chance
to think the questions over,
tell me your answers'

Forrest replied, 'Well, the
first one --
which two days in the week begins with the letter 'T'?
Shucks, that one is easy.
That would be Today and Tomorrow.'

The Saint's eyes opened wide and
he exclaimed, 'Forrest,
that is not what I was thinking,
but you do have a point,
and I guess I did not specify,
so I will give you credit for that answer.
How about the next one?' asked St... Peter.

'How many seconds in a year?
Now that one is harder,' replied Forrest,
but I thunk and thunk about that,
and I guess the only answer can be twelve.'

Astounded, St. Peter said, 'Twelve?
Twelve? Forrest,
how in Heaven's name could you come
up with twelve seconds in a year?'

Forrest replied, 'Shucks, there's
got to be twelve:
January 2nd, February 2nd, March 2nd... '

'Hold it,' interrupts St. Peter.
'I see where you are going with this, and I see your point,
though that was not quite what I had in mind....
but I will have to give
you credit for that one, too.
Let us go on with the third and final question.
Can you tell me God's first name'?

'Sure,' Forrest replied,
'it's Andy.'

'Andy?' exclaimed an exasperated
and frustrated St Peter.

'Ok, I can understand how you
came up with your answers to my first two questions,
but just how in the world
did you come up with the name Andy
as the first name of God?'

'Shucks, that was the easiest
one of all,' Forrest replied. '
I learnt it from the song,
'ANDY WALKS WITH ME,
ANDY TALKS WITH ME,
ANDY TELLS ME I AM HIS OWN.'

St. Peter opened the Pearly Gates,
and said:
'RUN Forrest, RUN.'

Give me a sense of humor, Lord.
Give me the ability to understand a clean joke,
To get some humor out of life,
And to pass it on to other folks.

Now, baby makes four

My son Hippie Guy and Daughter-in-law Flower Child went for an ultrasound today. We found out earlier in the pregnancy that they were having a boy. Well today it was revealed that there is not only one boy, but two boys. Yes they are having Twins!

I have to admit being a little bit in shock. Hippie called me at work today and all I could say was, "Are you kidding me!" "Are you kidding me! "Are you kidding me!!!"

Same scenario with Corvette, Cinderella, LCpl Honda, Grandma M & Grandpa DingDon.

Needless to say we were all in sort of a state of shock. Just so you know, this was not caused by invetro (not sure of sp) or any kind of human intervention. My son and DIL really wanted to be parents for awhile now and I do believe a higher power decided to give them not only one but two babies! And it seems that they are identical twin boys. The ultrasound reveals that the babies are in the same sac.

So once again my heart is taking a picture. A big picture! I feel lucky, blessed and really excited!

I am putting a few ultrasound pics up so the rest of my family can see the first pics of our new, beautiful grandsons.

So now I have to come up with two baby blog names. Any suggestions!

Snips and Snails and Puppydog Tails

I had mentioned awhile ago on my original blog that my son Hippie guy and DIL Flower Child were expecting a child. Originally they did not want to find out the sex because they wanted to be surprised.

Well she went for an ultrasound and as soon as the technician put the wand on her stomach she blurted out, "It's a boy!" Well my DIL was not upset and she said she would have figured it out because by looking at the screen that it was VERY obvious that there was a little man in there!

So everyone is happy and the kids are excited because they were hoping for a boy. So that makes one girl grandchild, Butterfly and two boy grandchildren, LollyPop Kid and hmmm...guess I will have to think about the new one's blog name.  I could stay with the hippie theme but then again he might not be a hippie like his parents. He could be a rocket scientist, concert pianist or even President of the United States! Yea I think I should at least see his personality before naming him. For now I will call him Baby C because C is the third letter of the alphabet and he is my third.

Fingernails and Broccoli Salad: My Youngest Son's Wedding

My baby got married on Saturday, February 21st, 2009. It was a small intimate affair with just family and a few close friends. It was at the home of the bride's (Flower Child) mother E and stepfather J. Their house is in a rural area in the desert southwest and truly was the perfect setting. The bride's stepfather is an ordained minister who officiated the ceremony and the bride's mother served as her matron of honor. The groom's older brother, LCpl Honda served as best man.

We all arrived caravan style at the home of the bride's mother E. Me and Corvette, LCpl Honda, Cinderella, Tango, Butterfly, LollyPop Kid, Grandma M and Grandpa Dingdon. We met E and J and they made us feel so comfortable. The house was decorated in pink and white rose petals and there was a beautiful altar in the Arizona room complete with candles and flowers.

Soon Corvette and I were seated in the front row with Grandma and Grandpa behind us followed by Cinderella and Tango. Hippy Guy's (the Groom) best friends from childhood and Butterfly filled in the other side.

The music started and we all waited in anticipation of the arrival of the bride. She soon emerged on the arm of her stepfather aka minister (dual role) and I could see the emotion on her face. I turned to look at my son and I saw the happiness in his eyes. The ceremony began and I had worried that would be a blubbering ninny but to my surprise, oh yes there were tears rolling out of both me and Corvette!

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, especially their personal vows. My son was so eloquent and my daughter-in-law was so incredible and funny. My heart took a picture!

After the ceremony we all hugged and just felt the love. The reception was fun. We danced and ate and drank a bit. I watched my son and his bride dance. We even had a Conga line led by Butterfly and with the big, bad Marine bringing up the rear! I saw Tango and Cinderella dancing a bit and I know I want to see more of that! LollyPop kid gorged on baby carrots. Hippie Guy's best friends from childhood told so many jokes that we were all in stitches. When the bride and groom were feeding each other cake, the bride's fingernail came off in the groom's mouth! It was so funny and yes we have pictures!

You are probably wondering what broccoli salad has to do with anything. Well, I was supposed to bring it to the wedding and guess what? Yep, I forgot it at my house. But, I do digress, there was a lot of people at my house and hey at least it wasn't the rings!

I feel very blessed. My baby got married. God bless you Hippie Guy and Flower Child!

XOXOXOXOXO

The morning of the wedding. Time to say, "See you soon my love!"
Ok. Yes this is my Marine. The night before dancing the Jig. OMG there is video too!

And Baby Makes 3

Well, it looks like I am going to be a grandmother for the third time. Hippie Guy and Flower Child recently announced they are expecting. Not sure of a due date but it is looking like August or September. They probably should have waited a bit to tell people but they are so very excited. I guess I have to come up with a blogging name for the new addition. For now I will call him/her Baby 3. They have decided to wait until Baby 3's birth to find out the sex. I like that idea. I have a feeling but will keep that to myself for awhile.

So far Flower Child is doing well with just a little morning sickness in the evenings. Hippie Guy who is my baby still finds it hard to believe but is pretty excited. LCpl Honda who is the oldest and still childless is wondering how this happened. Find a woman my dear!

I have been absent for awhile because I was stuck battling the garage dragon. Oh where did all this stuff come from? Actually I know the answer to that one. My man I married should have probably been born a woman. He was raised by women and does not understand that women decorate. Men fix things and usually don't care what color the kitchen is. At least I got everything semi-organized. I think I now know where most things are. I had been searching for my small crockpot every since we moved in and still did not find it until I went to fix dinner last night and lo and behold, there it was in my lazy susan cupboard where apparently I had put it! Sometimes I scare myself.
